In which countries can I buy an AVA bowl?

Our products can be bought in all countries within the European Union as well as Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Where are AVA bowls' products made?

All our drinking and feeding bowls are handmade by ceramic professionals in Portugal. The designs are conceived by ourselves. Wild One’s products are designed in New York and made in China.

What does AVA bowls do to be environmentally conscious?

Our drinking and feeding bowls are made of ceramic. Ceramic is a natural material made from clay, water and fire, and it contains no harmful substances or chemicals. Moreover, ceramic feeders are recyclable and they last a long time, so they are less likely to need replacing than feeders made of plastic or other materials;
We have fitted our warehouse and office with energy-efficient lighting and equipment;
We use recycled and/or biodegradable packaging materials.

Will AVA bowls expand the product range further?

For sure! Right now, we are still focusing on our first collection of food and water bowls and Wild One products, but we are also developing new products. Want to stay up to date? Then follow us on social media.

What can I do if I am not satisfied or have a complaint?

Are the drinking and feeding bowls suitable for all pets?

Yes, the drinking and feeding bowls are suitable for all pets. Whether you have a dog, cat, rabbit or hamster, our ceramic feeders are safe and hygienic for any pet.

Why should I choose a ceramic drinking and feeding bowl for my pet?

There are several reasons why a ceramic food bowl can be a good choice for your pet:

Hygiene: ceramic is non-porous, meaning no moisture or dirt can penetrate it. As a result, a ceramic food bowl is easy to clean and stays hygienic for longer;
Durability: ceramic is strong and can take a beating. Therefore, a ceramic bowl often lasts longer than a plastic or metal manger;
Food safety: the ceramic feeders are 100% food safe and contain no harmful substances such as BPA or lead;
Ceramic is stylish and therefore fits nicely into interiors.

How do I clean my AVA bowl?

It is important to clean your bowl regularly to ensure your pet does not ingest bacteria. The best way to clean the bowl is with warm water and washing-up liquid, then rinse well.

Are the food bowls dishwasher safe?

Yes, the food bowls are dishwasher safe. However, please note that the food bowls can be damaged in the dishwasher by other objects bumping into them and the anti-slip studs can come loose.

Can I use my bowl outdoors?

Yes, our ceramic feeders can be used outdoors. They are resistant to various weather conditions. However, in case of frost, it is recommended to bring the bowl inside as cracks may appear. In addition, it is important to ensure that the manger is placed on a stable surface to prevent it from tipping over or breaking.

How long does an AVA bowl last on average?

The lifespan of our bowls depends on several factors, including their use and care. In general, the bowls last a long time and are very durable. However, it is important to clean them regularly and treat them gently to ensure they stay in good condition and last longer. If you take good care of your AVA bowl, you can enjoy it for years.

Could the colours or shapes in real life differ from the photos on the website?

Display of digital images depend on your phone and/or laptop settings. In addition, the bowls are handmade and each bowl goes through the ceramic process in its own way, giving each bowl its own original look and feel. The colors and shapes on the website may therefore differ from the actual colors.

What is the best way to maintain my wooden tray?

To keep the oak tray in excellent condition, we recommend cleaning and treating the tray regularly. Below are our tips for the best results:

Avoid contact with water as much as possible. Your four-legged friend is bound to spill water while drinking, but make sure it doesn’t stay there too long to avoid stains or cracks;
Clean the tray regularly. Tip: Squeeze half a lemon on the tray and sprinkle with sea salt. Leave this on for 15 minutes. This combination kills bacteria and absorbs unwanted odor and stains. Clean with a wet cloth and then dry thoroughly;
Next, oil the tray with a natural oil approved for food contact to keep the tray in good condition. AVA bowls’ maintenance oil is excellent for this purpose! To do this, use a dry cloth or a piece of kitchen roll and rub the oil into the wood. Let the oil soak in well and the tray is ready to use again. Our advice is to treat the tray every 2 months for best results.

How do I attach the legs to the wooden tray?

The legs of the tray have a standard screw thread, so the leg may not always come out exactly at the right angle when you tighten it. Our advice is to keep turning with some extra force (this will not damage the tray), so the leg is in the right direction and stable. See the manual here.

What are the costs for shipping?

We offer free shipping on orders from €75 within the Netherlands. For orders under €75 shipping costs are for the buyer. Shipping costs are also charged for orders to other countries within the EU. The level of shipping costs is shown below per country:

Netherlands – €5.95 or free shipping for orders from €75 or more.
Delivery within 1 – 3 working days.

België, Duitsland – €7.95 or free shipping for orders from €75 or more.
Delivery within 2 – 5 working days.

Denmark, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Austria, Poland, Spain, Czech Republic, Sweden – €10.95.
Delivery within 2 – 5 working days.

When will I receive my order?

We dispatch orders only on working days. We aim to dispatch all orders within 24 hours of the order being placed. Have you placed your order on Friday after 15:00 or on Saturday or Sunday? Then the order will be dispatched on Monday.

How can I track my order?

You will receive a track and trace code as soon as your order is dispatched. With this code you can track your order and see when it will be delivered. It is therefore important to check your e-mail and spam folder regularly after you have placed your order. If you do not receive a track and trace code, please contact us via Whatsapp, e-mail or our contact form.

How can I exchange or return my order?

If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you have the right to request a return within 14 days of receiving your order. Please email info@ava-bowls.com and state the reason for your return request. We will then give you instructions on how to return the product. Please note that returned products must be in original condition and returned in their original packaging. AVA bowls will refund the cost of the returned product, but will not be responsible for the cost of return shipping.

Which payment methods can I use?

It is currently possible to pay with iDEAL, Bancontact, Giropay, Sofort, SEPA, PayPal or a gift voucher.

Do you also offer gift vouchers?

Sure, there are 4 different amounts possible in our webshop: €25, €50, €75 and €100. The gift voucher is nicely wrapped and sent as a letterbox package! Gift vouchers can be redeemed as a discount at checkout. Please note that the gift voucher can only be used once. If the total amount of the order is less than the value of the gift voucher, the remaining amount of the gift voucher will be forfeited. Gift vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash.

How can I redeem my gift voucher?

On the voucher is a personal code that you can enter in the shopping basket under the heading ‘Apply voucher’.

Is it possible to personalize AVA bowls' drinking and feeding bowls?

No, it is not possible to personalize AVA bowls’ drinking and feeding bowls. However, AVA bowls does offer several designs to choose from, so you can choose a bowl that suits your style, pet and interior!
